Sportradar, a multinational corporation based in Switzerland, has entered into a multi-year deal with Tennis Data Innovations (TDI), the specialist commercial vehicle of ATP Media and ATP and based in England, offering the sports technology firm streaming rights for wagering and international data as well as rights for media data, for every ATP Challenger Tour and ATP Tour event. In addition, the main focus of the alliance is to spur the commercial expansion for the sport and improve the chances of engagement of enthusiasts for the “downstream” market via the production of fresh media and wagering products.
Goals of the partnership:
Starting in December this year, Sportradar’s ATP Service+ dedicated package of solutions provides fresh and active ways for bettors and enthusiasts to occupy themselves with tennis through value-added, next-generation services and products, that leverage formerly inaccessible deep data. Additionally, features of the ATP Service+ involve transforming live streams with immersive 3D animations, short-form video highlights for registered users, augmented streaming, an extended in-play wagering markets and a wide range of targeted and personalized wagering products to boost performance of the sportsbook for Sportradar’s international network of operator customers.
Furthermore, one more reason why Sportradar will work together with TDI to produce media products, is to show additional in-depth insights and statistical analysis to entertain and notify enthusiasts. Also, it will use Sportradar’s OTT solution for live match streaming of the ATP Challenger Tour, through ATP’s Challenger TV. In addition, the production of the Tennis Innovation Lab will outline new chances to back up the ATP’s vision of tennis becoming the “most technologically advanced“ sport across the globe.
Providing Integrity Services:
Relatedly, Sportradar will provide Integrity Services for each event of the ATP Challenger Tour and ATP Tour to protect contests from wagering-related corruption and match fixing, involving addressing and monitoring integrity risks and threats via investigation and due-diligence support.
Commenting on the partnership, the CEO of TDI, David Lampitt, commented: “This is a landmark opportunity to realize our growth ambitions and deliver on our commitment to take the fan experience to the next level. In partnership with Sportradar, we will develop and integrate advanced technologies to provide fans with a more immersive and entertaining experience. The partnership will be a catalyst for innovation to create unique growth opportunities across new global markets. Our aim is not only to deliver great enhancements for our existing fans but also attract a generation of new fans to the game.”
Also commenting on the alliance, the CEO of Sportradar, Carsten Koerl, said according to the official press release: “As the leading sports technology company, we are ideally positioned to deliver against ATP’s ambitious growth plans. This truly collaborative partnership will result, through the application of technologies, such as computer vision and AI, in the creation of engaging products and services as part of our ATP Service+ offering. This will allow us to effectively monetize the relationship, while delivering new ways for bettors and fans to experience the sport of tennis.”
